100 Prints, Vol I

Slightly belated follow-up on the 100 prints project.

The prints have arrived, and are ready for me to put into a dedicated print box for storage. Some of the images are keepers that I never printed originally, and others are stuff I hadn't discovered until I went back for this project. Also, some are pure crap. I'm not going to lie about that.

I think the two biggest photographic ideas that set in more deeply while editing for this are as follows:

  1. Image sharpness doesn't matter.
  2. Image content does.

There are some images that show camera shake, or errors in focussing, but have interesting subjects. There are also some which are good and sharp without camera shake, but I'm really not sure what will be interesting in them over time.

I guess time will tell. At least doing this has gotten me into the habit or creating printable files for every image I scan. As it stands, I'm already twenty four images into the volume II of this project. For now, here is the project, in its entirety.

Things I'd never noticed about you until now:

    1. You really love an uneven horizon line.
    2. You photograph a lot of construction workers.

  2. K. Praslowicz

    1. Look at the horizon. Now tilt your head side to side. Notice how your brain keeps everything appearing level? I like to knock the horizon off kilter a bit. I think it makes the image feel a little more unnatural, and dammit, I like it!

    2. They're the new black.

    1. Uneven horizon lines are a pet peeve of mine - - when done unintentionally. Your use of this technique is solid and creates a desired effect on the viewers experience of the photo.

    2. Shame on you, t3h Kip.

p.s. - why are there 103 photos in Vol. 1 of the 100 prints series?

  5. K. Praslowicz

The extra three in the count just comes from the three images that are linked to in the body of the post, as well as in the 10x10 grid.

    Damn you computer logic!

    Insert overused catchphrase, "fail" here.

Wow. damn, these prints are great. I can't believe you could produce so many prints with such great quality!
