Tall Ships in Duluth!

Posted by & filed under Journal.

Tall ships! Tall ships! Tall ships! All the buzz in Duluth this week is about the old timey tall-ships which pulled into harbor this earlier this week. I love the tall ships! Not so much because they are ships which are tall, but because with tall ships comes throngs of tourists to pack into my typical street photography hunting grounds.

I watched the size of the crowds thicken on a web cam feed as The Grand Parade of Sail drew closer. As the crowd grew I couldn't take it anymore. My heart was pounding harder than a junkie in desperate need of a fix. The siren call of the Tall Ships could no longer be resisted.

This particular ship wasn't very tall. However, the skipper didn't seem to have much control of it as it drifted very close to the Duluth north pier. Don't worry though kids, they didn't make contact.
