About fifteen minutes ago I was out doing some night photography with my Speed Graphic. The main part of the scene metered at 5:30 minutes exposure after factoring in reciprocity. The darkest parts that I wanted to register where pretty dark, so I needed to use my flash to build up some density. I opened... Read more »

Here is my new fangled idea. I haven't made a contact sheet since 2000. I have an entire binder of pseudo organized 35mm negatives from that point to the present. I want to ultimately contact print everyone and put the contact print in a page right behind the set of negatives. Its really annoying having... Read more »

Calibration! Yay!

Today I finally got to get some paper wet after doing the calibrations mentioned in this post. I've only ran one so far, but it is very exciting to see a strait print holding full shadow detail, and highlights, without having to do endless dodging and burning. Combine this with the fact that the focal plane shutter in my Speed Graphic hits a slowest speed... Read more »

Where I've been.

April 24th, 2007 | No Comments

Since I now have a few friends who have digital cameras and come on outings with me, I figure I can harvest some of their images and use them to create a journal of outings. Since this site was still in development during the last two, I never did any formal write ups, so instead... Read more »

Yup. I've actually been shooting again. Even better, I actually have a workable darkroom again, so expect some new releases, and maybe some old stuff I never released, but should have. Also expect a new website in the near future. This one is over four years old, and is a little bit tired.
