About The Contest

I've spent the past few weeks collecting and rehabilitating old frames with my photographs. The first batch of framed prints are ready to be listed and sold, but before they hit the market I want to give everyone a chance to acquire one for free.

Anyone who is signed up on my newsletter by October 17th will be entered into a drawing. If your name gets selected, you pick one of the medium or small sized framed prints I have in my inventory, and I mail it to you. Simple!

About The Newsletter

If you are currently subscribed to my blog via RSS or e-mail, take note that the newsletter is not the same thing. You'll need to add yourself to the newsletter as well if you wish to be eligible for the print. The newsletter is a separate form of communication I use with people who aren't into the philosophical or gear related aspects of photography that I fill my blog with.

By signing up for the newsletter, you'll receive infrequent e-mails letting you know about a few different events. Such as when new framed prints are going to be released to my store, or if I dream up any newsletter subscriber only promotions. It will not simply be a monthly digest of my blog posts.

About The Prints

I intend to mix up the type of photographs which I frame and offer for sale. In one quarter I may only frame night time landscapes. The next time I might choose to only frame some of my street photography. For the upcoming initial release I have a mix of subjects. A few night photos, one street photo, two from an abandoned place and one which is absolutely adorable.

100 Prints for 100 Readers

Today is a milestone for my blog. Today is the first day that my subscriber count has crossed the threshold of one hundred subscribers. A much improved number than the five it displayed when I first started tracking subscriptions in January 2009.

To say thanks to everyone who is subscribed to my RSS feed, I have a special offer now available. 100 prints for 100 readers.

In celebration of this blog's growth, I've gone ahead and prepared one hundred 4x6 prints of some of the better street photographs I've shot over the past few years. I'm going to give them all away for free to my subscribers.

There is a catch though!

I've purchased twenty mailers and am stuffing each one with five prints. So, only the first twenty people who fill out the form at the bottom of this post will get some. The mailers have been stuffed with random images, sealed up, and are just waiting for an address to be assigned to them.

Those Dark Winter Nights

The first edit of Those Dark Winter Nights will be on display at Jitter's Coffee House in Duluth, MN for the month of November. Those Dark Winter Nights is a series I started working on this past winter which will probably not reach fruition for many years to come. If you are one of my subscribers in the northern Minnesota region, why not swing in some time this month and take a peek?

Visitor Feedback Day

I made a few minor changes to the site today in response to some visitor feedback I've received lately. This post is just a notification of these changes.

1. Individual gallery pages now contain a grid of thumbnails showing every image in it. Image you've previously have viewed will be marked by an orange underline.

2. You can now subscribe to post comments via e-mail without leaving your own comment. Useful if you want to watch a post, but currently don't have any to say. Or if you managed to forget to check the 'subscribe to comments' option when you had intended to.

Making Progress

For the past year or so I've been trying to grow myself as a photographer by trying to work harder at creating themed collections of images. Instead of releasing single images here and there under general categories such as Landscapes or Street Photography like I have been for years, I want to release many images at once that fit a much more focused theme of my choosing.

I just added individual content pages for all the lenses I own. Each image in my gallery will now show what lens was used to create it, if the camera isn't fixed lens, and I could actually remember which one I used on that particular photo.

Not a very important update. I did it mostly as a tactical move to increase my search engine optimization towards the gear-head market.
