Nikon FE

Nikon FE

The Nikon FE is the camera that I cut my teeth on. I purchased it from a pawn shop in 2001, and used the hell out of it for several years before moving onto larger formats of film.

The FE is an excellent choice if you are looking for a film SLR. The Nikon FE is also a very good camera for 35mm night photography. The auto exposure is sensitive enough to do exposures many minutes long. For years my night photography technique was to just set my Nikon FE to auto exposure with a compensation of +1, and just let it do its work. As you can see from my galleries, it performed quite well this way.
