Love to buy art? Hate the price of getting your newly acquired art framed? So do I! That is why I've started the Photographic Prints in a Rescued Frames program to sell you affordable framed photography.
About the Program
The goals of the PPRF program are simple:
- To make framed art affordable for non-collectors.
- To give loving homes to otherwise neglected and mistreated frames.
What I do with the Rescued Frames program is hunt estate sales, antique stores, thrift shops and yard sales looking for unique wooden frames with empty souls, or contain low value reproduction art which would only look good in a Country Kitchen from 1986. I adopt them at at a very small cost and take them home where I feed them, give them a bath, give them new cloths, and then get them back out into the world to start anew as framed fine art.
A Rescued Frame Case Study
Take for example one of the first frames who has gone through the program. When found, she had this gross pastel color scheme going on. She also had the equally gut-retching slogan "Every new day offers many gifts, untie the ribbons." written on her. After I took her in and gave her a new direction in life, she is now a proud piece of framed art, and is ready to take on any wall.

About The Frames
Since I am re-purposing used frames for this program, don't be surprised if a frame looks less than brand new. Many of the frames I use come with nicks and scratches already built in. I personally don't mind a few bumps or bruises on what I hang on my walls. If we're willing to buy pants which have been artificially beat up, why can't we buy a piece of framed art with a few natural signs of wear? It gives them character, and saves you a ton on framing costs.
However, If that isn't to your taste, I'll also print to order anything in my galleries and sell it to you unframed.
How To Adopt
All framed photographs which are ready to be shipped can be browsed and purchased via my Etsy shop.
