I was followed about a block up Broadway by someone I had taken a picture of. He was yelling “hey! hey! hey you!” as he approached from behind. I turned around and asked what the problem was. He told me it was against the law to photograph strangers on the street. I said bullshit and a few other expletives and walked away. That was the end of it.
Another time I was photographing some ConEd workers in Queens. When they saw me, everyone in the group immediately put their helmets and safety vest on. They didn’t say anything to me but I could sense I should leave, so I did.
